Mobile App: Adding and Removing Photos and Videos

This article explains how technicians can add and remove photos and videos using the new Media & Docs tab in the Sera Mobile App. 

What’s New

Technicians can:

  • Navigate to Media & Docs and add/remove photos (take photos or upload existing photos from the camera roll) and add/remove videos (take videos or upload existing videos from the camera roll).

Admins can: 

  • Navigate to the Job within the Admin Portal, locate the Media & Docs tabs, and view / review all photos and videos for that job in real-time.  

This improves the experience for photo uploads and management and adds the ability to capture videos, an important aspect when managing a job in the field. 


How It Works

This feature is automatically enabled as a native feature within Sera. 

Be sure you are using the latest version of the Mobile App. 

As we consistently improve aspects of the Mobile App, if there is a new version, upon logging in you'll be prompted to refresh the app. This is as simple as closing / logging out and back in. You'll always want to be on the most current version of the app. 

Once you Claim a job, the Media & Docs tile will be visible and accessible. 

The functionality is very user friendly.

  1. Claim your job within the Mobile App, and locate the Media & Docs tile from your primary screen. 
  2. Once you select Media & Docs, you'll be able to toggle between Photos, Videos, and Docs. 


  3. From here, you have the ability to Take Photo (which will open your camera and allow you to take a live photo or video that will upload to the app) or + Add Photo or + Add Video (which prompts you for access to your camera roll to select an existing photo or video that will upload to the app). 
  4. Once you have one photo or video loaded to the appropriate tab, adding additional is as simple as clicking the "+" icon. When you do this, you'll have the option to either Take Video or + Choose Video, or even exit from the modal completely. 



  5. If you need to review the video(s) and/or remove them after upload, you can simply click into the video, select the trash can icon to delete, and toggle through to review. You also have the ability to "Show to Customer" if you'd like. 

The Admin Portal is synced in real-time. 

You do not need to complete the job for the photos and videos to be viewable and downloadable from the Admin Portal. Simply navigate to the Job using the Jobs tab or via the Customer profile, and the Media & Docs tab in the Admin Portal will be accurately updated.
