Mobile App: Financing
Financing gives your customers flexible payment options for larger services or installs. In the Sera Mobile App, financing can be offered during quoting and recording properly during payment collection.
Quoting with Financing
When building a quote in the Technician App:
- If financing is enabled by your company, you'll see an option to offer financing on eligible quotes.
- The system will automatically determine eligibility based on your company's financing provider settings and the setup in your company's settings.
- You can present the financing option to the customer, including terms, estimated monthly payments, and provider details.
- Once the customer agrees to proceed, follow the financing application flow as configured by your company. There is an application button in the Sera Mobile App that will link you to the Service Finance app to complete the customer's application.
Tip: The financing option may not appear on all quotes - it depends on your company's setup and the total value of the quote.
Applying Financing as a Payment
After the quote has been accepted and work is completed:
- Go to the Invoice button
- Tap Make Payment
- Choose the External payment method
- Select Financing as the Payment Type
- Select the Lender from the dropdown and enter a loan number for tracking purposes
- Swipe to pay to credit the payment towards financing.
Note: This payment flow does not interact with Service Finance or any other financial institution. You would still need to process the financing and application steps directly with the lender.
Things to Remember
- Technicians do not approve or underwrite financing, or have any direct integration to the customer's loan to credit payments, change financing amounts, etc. This is all handled through the financial institution.
- Always confirm that the customer has received and signed any required documentation for financing.
- Your company's admin team can help if you don't see appropriate financing options or are unsure how to proceed.
