Mobile App: Pre-Work/Pre-Trip

The Pre-Work phase allows you to claim an appointment before heading to the job site.  This step gives you a chance to review all relevant job and customer information in advance - helping you prepare and arrive informed.

If Pre-Work is not an available option, please contact your office team and they can enable that setting for your company. 

What is Pre-Work?

If enabled in your account, Pre-Work is the first stage of an appointment workflow in the Sera Mobile App.  When you enter Pre-Work you're not yet on the clock for travel or job time, but you've officially claimed the appointment as yours.  

Think of it as your prep window before you hit the road.

From the floating bar, view the scheduled appointment

Tap Claim Appointment

Verify your intent to start Pre-Work by tapping Yes

The appointment will now show you as the assigned tech in Pre-Work status. 

While in Pre-Work mode, the appointment is in read only mode for certain actions, such as quoting.  This is intentional - you can not edit key job details until the job has started. 

What you can do in Pre-Work

- View customer contact information and location

- See job type, appointment times and special notes

- Review customer history, including previous appointments, quotes, notes, and equipment

- Prepare tools, materials and parts before heading to the customer's location

What comes next?

When you're ready to begin traveling:

Tap "Start Trip" to shift the job to driving and alert the customer that you are on your way, if applicable

Your driving time will start tracking automatically for Job Time Efficiency purposes
