Mobile App: Scheduling Inspections

Scheduling inspection appointments is simple and intuitive within the Sera Mobile App.  Follow the steps below to ensure appointments are created accurately.

What is an Inspection Appointment?

An inspection appointment is typically a visit scheduled with the city or local authority for permitting purposes.  These appointments are made for your internal office staff to reach out to that authority to make the appointment for a permit.

Steps to Schedule an Inspection

From the Sera mobile app, open the Job Summary

  • Navigate to the job from the floating bar by selecting the middle icon

Tap the Schedule button

Tip: You will need at least one accepted quote to proceed with the workflow and open the Schedule option

SCR-20250622-litn

Select Schedule from the header & tap Inspection

  • From the Schedule button, you can view all appointments for this job under the Appointments header, and schedule an Inspection Appointment or Follow-Up Appointment for this job under the Schedule header.

Set the date and time

  • Under the Inspection option will display a date picker and a list of reminders for your customer.

Tip: You are not scheduling the appointment with the city directly within this window, but rather sending a notification to your office team of the desired date for the customer.  Your office staff will get in touch with the city directly to schedule based on this date, and/or the first available date with the city.

Save the Inspection Appointment

  • Tap Schedule to save the Inspection appointment.  This will generate an email to your office staff to schedule the permit for the selected date.

Best Practices

  • Confirm with the customer before scheduling to ensure availability.  Your local permitting authority may require an onsite presence.
  • If the customer needs to reschedule that date, please reach out to an office team member to see if they are able to adjust or if the customer needs to call the city/county official doing the permitting work.
