Mobile App: Starting an Appointment

Once you've claimed an appointment in Pre-Work mode, or if your account does not have Pre-Work enabled, the next step in the workflow is to start the appointment.  This begins tracking your travel time, gives you access to navigation and sets the stage for logging your work from arrival to completion of the job.

Start Travel

From the floating bottom bar, tap Start Trip

This will shift the job into a driving state, track the time as Travel time for Job Time Efficiency purposes and can send a notification to the customer of your status, if applicable.

You must have location services enabled for accurate tracking.

Use Directions

After starting travel time, you will see a map above the Job Summary.

Tap the navigation icon to open the map program on your device (Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze, etc)

Your route will be preloaded using the customer's address on file

If you are on iOS and don't have the option to select a "default maps program", clicking the navigation icon could open a message to redownload Apple Maps.

Arrive and End Travel

Once you arrive at the customer's location, review the Sera Mobile App

Tap Finish Trip from the floating bar, which will stop the timer and record your travel time

What's being tracked?

- Travel time: from the moment you start your trip to when you mark yourself as arrived

- Location: for accurate job logs, dispatch visibility and customer tracking

- Time on site: begins after you end travel until you complete the job

Best Practices

Always select Start Trip before heading out for accurate time tracking

Ensure you tap Finish Trip when you have arrived to ensure full functionality is available during the processing of an appointment and proper time tracking

Use the built in navigation link for easy routing and reduced manual entry

If directions aren't launching correctly or your time isn't updating properly, check that:

- Location Services are fully enabled in the device settings

- Your app is completely up to date
